Makueni receives water project funds from National Government

MAKUENI COUNTY AMONG THE 27 COUNTIES THAT RECEIVED WATER PROJECT FUNDS FROM THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT
In a meeting with Environment Cabinet Secretary Prof. Judy Wakhungu, Makueni County Governor brokered a 22m that will go to massive water developments in the County. "With the existing 30m on County Budget Allocation, We now have an extra 23.5m, that will guarantee a grand replenishment on the provision of the basic commodity to our people," He affirmed, adding that from his experience, poor governance has been a big factor causing community run projects perform dismally. Governor Kivutha appealed to the National Government and WSTF to invest in strengthening water governance through training, technical support and legislative instruments. He requested the Cabinet Secretary to Intervene and rectify issues in Nul-Turesh so that the people of Emali, Sultan and Salama can get uninterrupted water supply.
