The Makueni Fruit Processing Plant (MFPP) is a Government of Makueni County flagship project established in 2013/14 with the main objective of reducing post-harvest losses from 30% to 20% and stabilizing the market prices thus improving household incomes among mango farmers in Makueni. Mango farming is practiced by nearly 70% of all rural households in the county. The main mango varieties include Apple, Ngowe, Tommy Atkins and Kent.
The MFPP offers high quality 100% Natural Mango puree that is fresh and has natural taste. Storage of the Mango Puree: Stored in the MFPP warehouse located at Kalamba. The product is stored in a cool environment, at room temperature, below 25◦C. The location is 27Km from Emali town which is on the Nairobi Mombasa highway (A104) and also the Standard Gauge Railway station. Also accessible through the Ukia – Emali road (C99), 17 km from the Ukia/Emali junction.
