The Department is headed by the County Executive Committee Member who is the policy head of the Water and Sanitation matters in the County. The CEC member is assisted by one (1) Chief Officer in charge of Water and Sanitation.

    The overall goal is to provide affordable quality water for household consumption and use in agricultural and industrial activities;

    The specific goals are:

    • To increase access to improved water sources by reducing distance to the water sources within 2 Km;
    • To increase access to improved water sources through increasing connections to households and water points;
    • To increase access to improved water sources through improved water governance: and
    • To ensure improved sanitation in both rural and urban areas.
