H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr on Friday joined other Ukambani governors for the 2nd Summit Meeting of SEKEB in Kitui County.

H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr on Friday joined other Ukambani governors Julius Malombe (Kitui) and Wavinya Ndeti (Machakos) for the 2nd Summit Meeting of South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SEKEB) in Kitui County.
For Makueni through the body, the governors agreed to fast track the tarmacking of Emali-Ukia, Sultan-Kikoko, Kikima-Mbumbuni roads, completion of Konza Techno City, establishment of specialized units where Makueni will have a trauma centre and pursuing for at least 10% of Tourism proceeds of Tsavo national park to benefit Makueni people.
SEKEB will hold Stakeholders Forum in October, 2023, at Thwake Dam with the three governors expected to Strengthen their political bargain with the national government and speak in unison as Ukambani for the region’s economic growth and push for establishing aggregation Centres and Industrial Parks.
The bloc reported that Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) had assured commencement of construction of Katulani – Thwake dam up to Wote Town road.

National Mango Conference rekindles farmers’ hopes .

The three-day national mango conference came to an end on Thursday with thousands of farmers hoping to reap big from their mango farms and have their products be part of consignments to EU countries.
Today the delegates had a field visit to various mango farms, value-addition firms, and a tour of the Kalamba Fruit Processing Plant.
The climax of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Makueni Governor, H.E. Mutula Kilonzo Jr, and Cornelly Serem, Chairman, of the Agriculture, and Food Authority Board, for a stronger Kenyan mango industry and better markets.
