GOVERNOR MUTULA DISTRIBUTES CERTIFIED SEEDS TO KILUNGU FARMERS.
Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has distributed 9.7 tons of certified maize seeds to farmers in Kilungu ward during a working tour of Kaiti Sub-county on Thursday.
Mutula said his administration is keen on maximising food production through growing the appropriate variety of crops in the wake of projected depressed October-November-December rains.
Mutula also inspected the construction progress of Ilovoto water project, which will benefit more than 3,300 residents of Kilungu ward when complete.
Governor Mutula is accompanied by a number of MCAs among them Assembly Deputy Majority Leader Jonathan Muthoka, deputy minority leader Sarah Mbilo, Eng. Jackson Ndolo (Ukia) and Kilungu MCA Joseph Mbidnyo.
AIDS HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH MAKUENI COUNTY TO ESTABLISH COMPREHENSIVE CARE CLINIC
Makueni County has partnered with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) to construct a comprehensive care clinic at Makindu Subcounty Hospital. The project, valued at Ksh. 6.8 Million, aims to address the pressing space constraints at the facility, thereby enhancing the quality of care for over 2,000 patients.
The new clinic is expected to create a safer environment for patients while also reducing HIV-related stigma and improving confidentiality in patient care.
During the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, Dr. Stephen Ndolo, the Chief Officer for Health Services, emphasized the nature of this initiative, describing it as an important milestone for local residents seeking medical assistance.
The foundations’ CEO Dr. Sam Kinyanjui stated that the clinic is scheduled for completion in January 2025,saying the development underscores their commitment in improving healthcare access and outcomes in the region.
FAMILIARIZATION MEETING FOR NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS OF THE KENYA DEVOLUTION SUPPORT PROGRAM (II) IN WOTE, MAKUENI
Deputy governor Lucy Mulili on Monday chaired a familiarization meeting for new committee members of the Kenya devolution support program (II) in Wote, Makueni.
The committee will be in charge of implementing programs funded by the National government under KDSP to strengthen county performance in key result areas such as public finance management, Monitoring and evaluation,human resources and performance management and public participation and devolution and intergovernmental relations.
Makueni will get an institutional grant of KSh.37.5 M and a service delivery investment grant,directly linked to achievement of predefined tangible and verifiable results under the 4 year KDSP (II).
Mulili was flanked by county assembly speaker Douglas Mbilu, several ECMs,chief Officers,officers from the state department of Devolution and the assembly chair of the Devolution committee and Mbitini ward MCA Bernard Mutua.
