Over 600 households in Kiboko Twaandu, Makindu Ward, are set to benefit from improved access to water following the implementation of a KSh 10 million water distribution project under the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) programme.

The project extends water distribution through a 9-kilometre gravity-fed pipeline from Mbiuni through Mauluni and Malivini to Nthia. It also includes the refurbishment of three water kiosks and the construction of a communal water point at Mauluni.

The distribution network builds on an earlier water project implemented through a partnership between the Government of Makueni County and World Vision, which established the water supply infrastructure, including a 250,000-litre storage tank and booster station.

The latest investment will bring water closer to households, while also advancing Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr administrationโ€™s #LastMileWaterConnectivity agenda.
