Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has inspected ongoing construction works on the Kiloloโ€“Kyanzeni โ€“ Musalala Project along River Kaiti. The project comprises a sand dam, a sump tank, a shallow well and a drift at Kilolo, on the border of Ukia, Ilima and Kee wards in Kaiti Sub-County.

The community-led initiative is funded by Africa Sand Dam, with the County Government of Makueni providing machinery to support construction, while the local community contributes locally available materials.

On Monday, the Kyanze Self-Help Group hosted members of other community groups from Mwala, Kathiani and Mbooni, who joined in providing labour and sharing knowledge through benchmarking visits. The collaborative effort aims to accelerate the completion of the project and improve access to reliable, sustainable water for local residents.
