Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has begun a development tour of Emali/ Mulala Ward with the launch of beaconing and the opening of roads in the Kinyoo area.
The Governor is leading a delegation of county officials representing various departments of his administration, alongside area MCAs Cosmas Mutunga, Kyalo Mumo, and other local leaders.
The exercise is expected to take 30 days and will open up the area for economic development while improving urban planning within the EmaliโSultan Hamud Municipality.
The initiative is set to spur the growth of Emali town through controlled and well-planned development, including the expansion of road networks, electrification, and water infrastructure, among other amenities.
Governor Mutula said that upon completion of the exercise, his administration will push for the upgrading and reclassification of the newly opened roads to facilitate further development in the area, which is earmarked for future city status.
The Governor also directed the project team to pursue diplomatic and consultative approaches in resolving any disputes that may arise with residents who have occupied or used the land over the years without proper surveying and beaconing.
