The training forum, facilitated by TradeMark Africa (TMA) in collaboration with the County Department of Agriculture, began on Tuesday and targets two cohorts: 45 youths from Vert Ltd and 60 youths associated with Keitt exporters.

The initiative seeks to reduce post-harvest losses, improve mango quality and safeguard compliance with market standards.

Through practical skills development, the trained youths will support exporters and farmers in harvesting, handling and grading mangoes correctly, helping prevent losses experienced in previous seasons.

The programme marks a proactive step towards strengthening Makueniโ€™s mango value chain, improving market access and promoting better returns for farmers.
