Jitume Program Lands at David Mbiti Wambuli CTTI of Tulimani Ward.

Hosted by the Deputy Governor and the line department of ICT, Education, and Internship, Hon. Eliud Owalo, launched a state-of-the-art digital lab equipped with 100 computers at the aforementioned County Technical Training Institute (CTTI) in Mbooni Sub-county.

This is among the 112 T.V.ETs across the country to have such a lab that is open to students, and the youth.

 Its main roles include providing a digital platform where members of the community are trained on computer skills, are empowered towards digital entrepreneurship, and can access government e-services.

The available online jobs include Data Entry, Transcription, Research, and Technical jobs which are the highest paid. To ward off scammers, the international digital organization provides a particular code per country through which one can ascertain the legitimacy of the available job and employment thereof.

Hon. Owalo added that many more will be set up in all wards across the country through a partnership with members of the parliament in a bid to implement the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda.  

While unpacking the basket of digital goodies for the county the C.S. mentioned more markets in the country will follow the Wote market route of free Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity among the 25,000 the National government is set to connect. While riding on that initiative the Deputy Governor was quick to request for connectivity of Emali and Mukuyuni new urban markets.

Mrs. Mulili also appealed for an extension of the Fiber Optic Cable to the Governor’s office building and other parts of the town as an undertaking of the 1000km the C.S talked of.

The Cabinet Secretary stressed the government’s agenda of digitizing government services to ensure a digital economy and efficiency in service delivery.Makueni County government through the Department of ICT, Education, and Internship has been at the forefront of executing this initiative by digitizing key government services. An endeavor that has seen last financial year’s revenue grow from a previous 189 to 891 million.

It’s free WIFI at Wote

The launch of Free Public WiFi Hotspots at Wote Market is a big boost in the already digitized revenue collection model through MyCountyApp, governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has said.
Speaking when he hosted cabinet secretaries: Eliud Owalo (ICT) and Alfred Mutua (Foreign Affairs) on Thursday during the launch of the free WIFI hotspots at Wote town, Mutula said such digitalization plan will ensure people access government services promptly.
The Cabinet Secretaries observed that the WIFI will help people engage in online business, check how other parts of the world are faring, advertise and seek jobs abroad.
 
 
   
 

Why Governor Mutula took another return of his development tour to Mtito-Andei.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has concluded his one-day intense development tour of Mtito-Andei ward that involved inspecting and commissioning of several projects that impact ordinary citizens with a promise of implementing more development projects that are effective, and to the needs of the locals in that area.
In the morning, the governor opened to the public a Community Information Center (CIC) and a County Technical Institute in Mtito Andei Town and also, through Faith Kenya Mission commissioned a water point that is housing a library in the township where residents as they fetch water can borrow general knowledge books-a path to eradicating illiteracy.
He also commissioned Kwa Diana Misuuni water pipeline that will serve at least 2,600 households drawn from Mitooni, Misuuni,Yindundu,Athi Makutano and songea villages within Kiteng’ei.
In the neighbouring Kyusyani area, accompanied by several partners, he commissioned both science and computer laboratories for Kyusyani Secondary School done through County partnership with Safaricom Foundation, Addax, Oryx and Savo Trust.
In the evening, H.E the governor commissioned Nzoila ECDE public centre which has been build and equipped by the County, a center that will offer conducive learning environment for 46 young learners.
Later, he inspected the Darajani Community Information Centre, attended a free medical camp where 183 residents were screened for various diseases, a camp organized by health department before addressing a public baraza.

Mtito-Andei ward residents have something to smile about as the governor opens to the public a Community Information Center (CIC) and a County Technical Institute in Mtito Andei Town. H.E has at the same Township through Faith Kenya Mission commissioned a water point that is housing a library. The aim of the library, a vision borne by Tomi Dobbs, a 10-year-old girl is to eradicate Global Literacy.
The library is richly stocked with numerous books on general knowledge subjects and are available to the public.
Her idea is to have Mtito citizens read as they fetch water thus eradicating both water scarcity and illiteracy.
He has also commissioned both science and computer laboratories for Kyusyani Secondary School projects done through the County partnership with Safaricom Foundation, Addax, Oryx and Tsavo Trust.
 

Governor Mutula calls for greater participation of youth in entrepreneurship

H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Monday graced the Makueni youth dialogue and mentorship event that brought together 15 youths per ward from all over the county.
 
 
The governor used the forum to urge for youth participation in economic affairs through entrepreneurship.
He said the government was keen in creating a conducive environment that will unlock the potential for the County’s youth, to enable them to fully participate in development.
The County had also engaged different sector leads and youths who have excelled in various business ventures to speak during the forum.

Governor Honours Makueni’s Vulueni student for emerging top in national Drama festival

May 24, 2023/ H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has today celebrated Oscar Brian, from Vulueni Secondary school for topping nationally during the concluded Kenya National Drama and Film Festival, 2023.
Through the CECM-ICT, Education and Internship, Elizabeth Muli, the Governor ensured Brian’s school fees is cleared following his triump where his spoken word performance “Number ya Mwisho” won first place in both regionals and nationals.
The delegation also brought a token of appreciation for the school and those who were involved in making the drama team’s success possible.
