Several community groups in Ukia Ward have received KSh 50,000 each through the Makueni County Empowerment Fund, as Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. concluded his development tour of the ward with a public Baraza in Kilala.
Addressing residents, Governor Mutula said the county had set aside KSh 160 million to support community groups, urging beneficiaries to put the funds to good use, repay their loans and progress to higher funding levels to unlock more financial support.
The Baraza drew an enthusiastic turnout, with residents gathering in Kilala and staying into the evening to welcome the Governor and his delegation. The meeting offered residents an opportunity to raise their concerns, share their priorities and engage directly with the county leadership.
The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili, County Executive Committee Members, County Assembly Clerk Kevin Mutuku, MCAs and other local leaders.
The day-long tour took the county leadership across Ukia Ward, where they interacted with residents and listened to their views on development and service delivery.
