𝗪𝗼𝘁𝗲, 𝟮𝟳 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 – The Makueni County Government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AMC Healthcare, Inc. to establish a dedicated paediatric wing at Makueni County Referral Hospital (MCRH) in Wote.

The proposed facility aims to strengthen child healthcare services by integrating general paediatric inpatient care, high-dependency and intensive care units, isolation rooms, emergency treatment and resuscitation services, alongside family-centred support facilities.

The partnership will leverage AMC Healthcare, Inc.’s expertise in modular healthcare facility design, off-site manufacturing, medical equipment integration and project delivery to address the urgent need for purpose-built paediatric care.

The project is expected to improve access to specialised child healthcare, enhance emergency response and critical care capacity, and provide a more suitable environment for the treatment and recovery of young patients. By bringing essential paediatric services together in a dedicated facility, the initiative is expected to ease pressure on existing hospital spaces, strengthen infection prevention measures and provide better support for families seeking quality healthcare for their children.

Nourrir Trade Solutions (Tunza Trade) will serve as the implementing partner for AMC Healthcare, Inc., supporting the implementation of the proposed project and facilitating the development of the dedicated paediatric wing at Makueni County Referral Hospital.

According to the AMC team, The project design is the first of its kind in Kenya and Africa.
