Meet Governor Mutula with his basket of goodies for Mtito-Andei as he tours the region

Mtito-Andei ward residents have something to smile about as the governor opens to the public a Community Information Center (CIC) and a County Technical Institute in Mtito Andei Town. H.E has at the same Township through Faith Kenya Mission commissioned a water point that is housing a library. The aim of the library, a vision borne by Tomi Dobbs, a 10-year-old girl is to eradicate Global Literacy.
The library is richly stocked with numerous books on general knowledge subjects and are available to the public.
Her idea is to have Mtito citizens read as they fetch water thus eradicating both water scarcity and illiteracy.
He has also commissioned both science and computer laboratories for Kyusyani Secondary School projects done through the County partnership with Safaricom Foundation, Addax, Oryx and Tsavo Trust.
 

Commission on Revenue Allocation holds a meeting with governor Mutula while on devolution impact assessment tour

The Commission on Revenue Allocation, CRA, which is assessing the impact of devolution to service delivery since inception of devolution across the 47 counties has today morning held a meeting with H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr .
The Commission which has been in Makueni county in the last 3 days has visited various projects fully funded by the county government across subcounties to determine the extent service delivery has impacted the citizens in the County.
The team led by Commissioner Hadija Juma and the CEO James Katule held wide discussions with the Governor, CECs to discuss the impact across education, health, urban planning, roads, agriculture and water.

Walking for mental health

#Power of Humanity walk has been launched in Wote, spearheaded by Kenya Red Cross Society under H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr , branch patron, with the aim of raising funds to address mental health issues.
The Governor affirms the government’s commitment to addressing mental health problems after emerging that an estimated 3000 adults in Makueni county had severe thoughts of suicide in the year 2020/2021/2022 while 700 made suicide plans and 500 attempted suicides.
 
 

Makueni receives RTA Response Vehicle, designed to detach vehicles after accidents

A Road Traffic Accident Response Vehicle with a new design (Fabricated in Kenya) has been received in Makueni County courtesy of the partnership between the County and the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM).

The RTA response vehicle-an ambulance by design and the first one in Kenya carries enough RTA extrication and rescue equipment: 2 hydraulic pumps, a hydraulic cutter, a ram and spreader, trauma bags, four parts extension ladders, and a stretcher among others.
After having a test drive, H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr exuded confidence that rescue operations along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway will significantly be done through the vehicle which will be stationed at Makindu.
 
 
 
 
 

Governor presides over first-ever county enforcement officers pass out parade

H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Thursday presided over the first-ever pass-out event for 48 Enforcement Officers at Unoa grounds, Wote, Makueni Sub-County.
The pass out followed a 4-week rigorous training at ATC Kwa Kathoka that involved; first aid, self-defense, customer service, and public relations among other skills.
During the ceremony, the governor expressed his administration’s commitment to recruiting more disciplined officers into the team.
H.E. the governor asked the officers to always work with dedication, and observe integrity while executing their roles.

Saturday, May 13, 2023/ Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr graced Tusome Foundation /MINA motivation and Prize giving ceremony at Ikalyoni secondary school, Kilungu, Kaiti sub-county, where Students, and teachers are getting awarded for their good performance in different fields including those who excelled in last year’s KCPE & KCSE examinations.
The governor’s 2016 brainchild Tusome Foundation covers 6 primary schools, and 1 secondary school and has been doing welfare activities, supporting education, and environmental conservation.
H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr fired warning shot on sex pests preying on minors after reports emerged of increased defilement cases in the region.

to explore strategic areas of partnership on strengthening citizen participation in decision-making processes.

Let’s uphold peace for development, DG Mulili urges

H.E Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili on Saturday attended wedding ceremony of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Nziu at Sultan-Hamud Catholic Church, Kilome Sub-County where she urged locals from the cosmopolitan town to always uphold peace in order to promote development.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by Irene Makau (Devolution Chief Officer), Kavai Nzai (MCA Kasikeu ward), among others local leaders.
 

Joy as governor launches NCPB satellite depots.

H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr on Friday launched Mukuyuni and Kikima NCPB satellite depots for the last mile delivery of subsidized fertilizer bringing the commodity closer to farmers.
Initially farmers used to get subsidized fertilizers from the three NCPB main depots located at Wote, Emali and Kibwezi Town.
“We will ensure that these depots are opened as early as 7a.m so that farmers can be supplied with fertilizer”, the governor said in Kikima.
128,410 out of 193, 384 farmers registered for the fertilizer subsidy Programme in the County will benefit and make the county food secure.
The Governor was accompanied by NCPB Managing Director Mr. Joseph Kimote , Kaburu Kaimba (county commissioner), CECMs: Japheth Mang’oka (Devolution), Joyce Mutua (Agriculture).
