MAKUENI HAS PARTNERED WITH HOPE MOBILITY KENYA TO ASSES AND PROVIDE MOBILITY DEVICES TO PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PEOPLE IN THE COUNTY.

Through a collaboration framework signed by Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr and Hope Mobility Kenya Executive Director Jack Muthui Tuesday, those living with disabilities will undergo proper diagnosis to identify their challenges and receive appropriate assistive devices.

Governor Mutula is upbeat this will bring hope to physically challenged people who are often shunned by society and miss life growth opportunities.

The signing was witnessed by Gender and Social Services Executive Committee Member Nicholas Nzioka and Chief Officer Catherine Katuti, director of Gender Services and the county Disability Mainstreaming Officer. 

GOVERNOR MUTULA KILONZO JR HAS TODAY INKED A PARTNERSHIP DEAL WITH JACOBS LADDER AFRICA  TO EMPOWER MAKUENI YOUTH IN AGRIBUSINESS

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has today inked a partnership deal with Jacobs Ladder Africa to empower Makueni Youth in Agribusiness, train and build their capacity on financial management and access to resources and market for the products.

The targeted value chains include Poultry, Aquaculture, Bee keeping, Tree nurseries and Vegetable growing.

By the end of January 2024, the first 20 aquaculture group of beneficiaries will be supported to construct fish ponds across the county through the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Youth.

GOVERNOR MUTULA KILONZO JR ON FRIDAY DISTRIBUTED TWENTY THREE 100-SEATER TENTS AND CHAIRS IN NZAUI KILILI KALAMBA WARD AND SIX MORE IN KIKUMBULYU NORTH WARD TO 29 DIFFERENT COMMUNITY GROUPS ACROSS THE WARDS.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Friday distributed Twenty Three 100-seater tents and chairs in Nzaui Kilili Kalamba Ward and Six more in Kikumbulyu North Ward to 29 different community groups across the wards.

The groups which have been in existence requested for the tents through public participation. This will go a long way in empowering the groups which hire these out during events like burials, weddings traditional meetings etc. The disbursements were made possible through the Department of Gender, Children, Youth, Sports and Social Services.

Governor Mutula fetes 2023 Makueni’s finest sportsmen and women

A huge contingent of players from Makueni who excelled in various sports disciplines such as special Olympic games, beach handball, handball, cycling, and football in 2023 across the world on Thursday were feted by H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.
A number of players from Makueni scooped gold medals during the concluded special Olympic games, Berlin, Germany while others participated in beach handball (Tunisia), Handball under20 (Tanzania), and athletics under20 coming home with gold medal in 10,000 metres race and silver in 1,500 metres.
The governor has assured that he will continue supporting sporting activities in the county with a promise of improving Ngakaa talent centre in Makindu and other centres where players have been training.

Why Governor Mutula took another return of his development tour to Mtito-Andei.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has concluded his one-day intense development tour of Mtito-Andei ward that involved inspecting and commissioning of several projects that impact ordinary citizens with a promise of implementing more development projects that are effective, and to the needs of the locals in that area.
In the morning, the governor opened to the public a Community Information Center (CIC) and a County Technical Institute in Mtito Andei Town and also, through Faith Kenya Mission commissioned a water point that is housing a library in the township where residents as they fetch water can borrow general knowledge books-a path to eradicating illiteracy.
He also commissioned Kwa Diana Misuuni water pipeline that will serve at least 2,600 households drawn from Mitooni, Misuuni,Yindundu,Athi Makutano and songea villages within Kiteng’ei.
In the neighbouring Kyusyani area, accompanied by several partners, he commissioned both science and computer laboratories for Kyusyani Secondary School done through County partnership with Safaricom Foundation, Addax, Oryx and Savo Trust.
In the evening, H.E the governor commissioned Nzoila ECDE public centre which has been build and equipped by the County, a center that will offer conducive learning environment for 46 young learners.
Later, he inspected the Darajani Community Information Centre, attended a free medical camp where 183 residents were screened for various diseases, a camp organized by health department before addressing a public baraza.
 

Governor Mutula calls for greater participation of youth in entrepreneurship

H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Monday graced the Makueni youth dialogue and mentorship event that brought together 15 youths per ward from all over the county.
 
 
The governor used the forum to urge for youth participation in economic affairs through entrepreneurship.
He said the government was keen in creating a conducive environment that will unlock the potential for the County’s youth, to enable them to fully participate in development.
The County had also engaged different sector leads and youths who have excelled in various business ventures to speak during the forum.
 
 
 

MAKUENI DEPUTY GOVERNOR LUCY MULILI ANNOUNCES SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME FOR ECDE WITHIN MAKUENI.

Makueni deputy governor H.E Lucy Mulili has lauded ACK Wote Township Primary school for posting exemplary performance in 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and grade 6 (KPSEA) exams.
 
Mulili who spoke on Friday during the school’s prize giving ceremony revealed that the County government had set aside adequate budgetary allocation for ECDE infrastructural scaling up and implementation. 
 
Mulili further announced that the County government was at an advanced stage of scheduling an elaborate school feeding programme and with its policy near completion.
 
Mulili also noted that together with governor Mutula Jnr, they were beginning to fastrack on  implementation of community centric projects so as to bring services closer to the locals.
 
Mulili hailed the class of 2022 for its stellar performance by recording a mean score of 366 marks and transitioning almost 100% of the pupils to high schools. 
 
“Our children are our rich heritage and the fact that this school is consistently known for very good performance over the years, its a statement of visionary leadership” Mulili noted.
 
She further encouraged the parents to take up the responsibility of shaping their kids character once they are at home for holidays.
 
18 candidates scored 400 marks and above with 135 pupils scoring between 350 and 399 while 48 others scored between 300 and 349.
