𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗼 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘂 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗱

𝗞𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶, 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 -Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has inspected ongoing road improvement works in Kithungo Kitundu Ward, engaging residents to understand their concerns and assess the impact of the projects on the ground.

The inspection provided an opportunity for the governor to interact with wananchi and listen to their needs as the county government continues to improve road infrastructure in the area.

The road improvement programme includes bush clearing, gravelling, light grading and installation of gabions on several roads within the ward.

Among the roads undergoing improvement is the Katumani–Mukuyuni Road in Kavutini, where works include bush clearing, gravelling, light grading and gabion installation.

On the Katumani–Kithungo Road, contractors are undertaking 10 kilometres of bush clearing, gravelling, construction of a drift and installation of gabions to improve accessibility and drainage.

Works are also ongoing along the Katumani–Kithangathini–Kona Mbaya–Katitu Road, covering 14 kilometres of bush clearing, culvert installation and construction of a drift.

The projects are still ongoing, with the county government expected to continue monitoring their implementation.

During the inspection, Governor Mutula directed engineers and contractors to ensure that the works meet the required quality standards. He also emphasised the need for proper drainage systems to be incorporated into the road works to enhance durability and prevent damage caused by water.

The governor’s engagement with residents is expected to provide the county government with firsthand feedback on the challenges faced by communities and help guide the implementation of infrastructure projects in the area.
