Why Governor Mutula took another return of his development tour to Mtito-Andei.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has concluded his one-day intense development tour of Mtito-Andei ward that involved inspecting and commissioning of several projects that impact ordinary citizens with a promise of implementing more development projects that are effective, and to the needs of the locals in that area.
In the morning, the governor opened to the public a Community Information Center (CIC) and a County Technical Institute in Mtito Andei Town and also, through Faith Kenya Mission commissioned a water point that is housing a library in the township where residents as they fetch water can borrow general knowledge books-a path to eradicating illiteracy.
He also commissioned Kwa Diana Misuuni water pipeline that will serve at least 2,600 households drawn from Mitooni, Misuuni,Yindundu,Athi Makutano and songea villages within Kiteng’ei.
In the neighbouring Kyusyani area, accompanied by several partners, he commissioned both science and computer laboratories for Kyusyani Secondary School done through County partnership with Safaricom Foundation, Addax, Oryx and Savo Trust.
In the evening, H.E the governor commissioned Nzoila ECDE public centre which has been build and equipped by the County, a center that will offer conducive learning environment for 46 young learners.
Later, he inspected the Darajani Community Information Centre, attended a free medical camp where 183 residents were screened for various diseases, a camp organized by health department before addressing a public baraza.
 

Kwa Diana Misuuni water project commissioned

2,600 households drawn from Mitooni, Misuuni,Yindundu,Athi Makutano and songea villages within Kiteng’ei, Mtito-Andei ward will benefit greatly following the commissioning of Kwa Diana Misuuni water pipeline by H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.
The water will be sourced from 100 M3 water sump along Kambu River.
Water agenda is the Governor’s priority and he observes that he will ensure he walks his promise to the people.

Mtito-Andei ward residents have something to smile about as the governor opens to the public a Community Information Center (CIC) and a County Technical Institute in Mtito Andei Town. The aim of the library, a vision borne by Tomi Dobbs, a 10-year-old girl is to eradicate Global Literacy.
The library is richly stocked with numerous books on general knowledge subjects and are available to the public.
Her idea is to have Mtito citizens read as they fetch water thus eradicating both water scarcity and illiteracy.

We will guarantee prudent use of public resources- Governor Mutula

H.E Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr on Monday gave a commitment that his government will continue running, good, and effective systems with prudent use of all resources where Makueni people will get value for their money.
He assured of accurate management and control of public resources in a way that is lawful, transparent, economical and as authorized.
Mutula Jnr called on all officers to make proper use of all resources at their disposal warning that anyone found to have breached prudent use of such resources will be personally held accountable.
The governor was speaking during the 2022/2023 FY auditors’ entry meeting for setting out the Financial Year’s compliance audit scope and approach at wote social hall that was attended by representatives from the Office of the Auditor General, CECMs, County Accounting Officers among other government officials.

Governor Mutula hosts President Ruto, roots for water and road infrastructure

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Thursday hosted President William Samoei Ruto at the Konza Technopolis in Kilome sub county during the award of charter to Open University of Kenya.
Open Univeristy of Kenya will offer virtual learning in Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, Bachelor of Science in Data Science, Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics among other courses.
The president accompanied by the governor among other senior government officials toured the Konza data centre and a water reclamation facility at the technopolis.
In his remarks, the governor petitioned the president to tarmac Emali-Ukia road saying the road will connect the lower Eastern to the Northern Frontier Counties.
Mutula Junior said the Namanga-Kajiado-Emali-Ukia-Garissa road is the only economic corridor in the region and would spur growth in Kajiado, Makueni,Machakos and Garissa counties.
He also called for the extension of the national fibre optic cable from the county commissioner’s office headquarters to other offices.
The governor also sought intervention of the president in the extension of the new proposed Nolturesh water line from Kajiado county through Konza to other parts of Makueni for the benefit of residents.

Governor Mutula woos Kenyans living abroad to invest in Makueni

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Friday asked over 4 million Kenyans living, and working abroad to make Makueni their number one destination choice for lucrative investment opportunities.
The governor says many dreams harbored by diaspora Kenyans who went to work abroad, made money, and are now comfortably living off abroad should be realized in Makueni soil.
H.E the governor was speaking when he officiated the EireKenya Irish Village Ground-breaking event at Konza, Malili, Kilome Sub-County.
The construction of the first Makueni gated community homes by a group of Kenyans working in Ireland will sit on a 40-acre piece of land with a controlled development of villas, bungalows, and social amenities.
He assured that through his government he will ensure that it is possible to navigate all processes of acquiring property and development approvals in the County.
“The Department of Lands, Urban Planning and Development ensured that the development application for this particular project met all the conditions and the approval was done within a short time with the consent of the cabinet. We welcome any other investor to Makueni since all processes are done seamlessly,” the governor said
The Governor was accompanied by Lucy Mulili (Deputy Governor), MP Thaddeus Nzambia (Kilome), Amos Wachira (Chair-Eirekenya), and area MCA, among other leaders.
 

10 Villages in Mavindini get clean Water

At least 2,100 villagers and 1,200 students in Mavindini Ward can now access clean water from Kanthuni borehole, commissioned by Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr at Kanthuni Secondary School on Thursday.
The project was drilled and solarized by the Department of Water and Sanitation early July 2023 to ease the water shortage challenges synonymous with the area. Water will be distributed through Iiani and Kakuswi pipelines to 10 villages in the ward.
Governor Mutula was accompanied by Senator Daniel Maanzo, County Assembly Speaker Mbilu Douglas Area MCA Jonathan Kimongo and Muvau Kikumini MCA Elizabeth Kawembe.
 

Makueni sub-county development Tour.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Thursday accompanied by Lucy Mulili (Deputy Governor), Dan Maanzo (Senator), Doughlas Mbilu (Speaker), various MCAs during his day long development tour of Makueni sub-county visited ongoing medical camp at Kanthuni Market.
The camp has been offering health education talk on:
1. Cervical cancer
2. Kidney failure
3. General health
Lab services and diabetes screening, dental services, malnutrition screening, dispensing of drugs , Counseling services among other services.
250 people were screened for various ailments.
 
 
 

Governor’s development tour.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr, Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili, accompanied by County Commissioner, several MCAs commissions Winzeni micro-Irrigation project at the River bed of River Athi in Kitise/Kithuki ward.
The project once complete will irrigate 30 acres of land. This is one among 11 micro Irrigation projects scattered in dry wards of mavindini, kitise/Kithuki, Kikumbulyu South, kikumbulyu North, mbitini and kalawa.
The Governor also led a food distribution drive to several families from the area.
